This course serves as an introduction to the theory of functions of a complex variable and integration in the complex plane. A good way to think of this subject is “calculus with complex numbers”.
The course is not proof-based, although students should expect it to be more conceptually demanding than 1000 or 2000 level math classes. Some simple proofs will be covered in the lecture, and exams will test concepts in addition to computations.
